Can You Have An Empty Inbox?

Post date: Jul 26, 2013 7:22:26 AM

Long time customers and people who followed my original blog (which is now Success Central) know I have been listening to the Manager Tools podcast for many years.

I have always found their podcasts most helpful in providing me with ideas and strategies to effectively manage all those "little things" that are nothing more than drains on my time.

I listened to a couple of episodes today that I would like to share with you, as I am sure that the topic discussed will be very familiar to many of you.

These two episodes focus on "email inbox overload" and discuss strategies you can implement to help you reduce the amount of time you waste on email.

My interest was immediately piqued when they suggested that you can empty your email inbox on a daily basis!!

My initial thoughts were "Empty your inbox everyday? These guys are dreaming!!", but after listening to both episodes I sat down, worked through my inbox as they suggested and I am happy to say that it is now empty!!!

This is a big deal to me, as I cannot remember the last time I had an empty inbox - I have even checked that my internet connection has not dropped out, just in case this is all an illusion, but it is true - I have no emails in my inbox to read!!

I am not going to spoil things by telling you the Manager Tools strategy for clearing out your inbox because that would spoil things - have a listen for yourself - you can access Episode 1 here and Episode 2 here.

How many things occur each day that have a negative impact on your productivity and what can you do to remove these distractions?
